Programs

The Omicron Gamma Omega chapter promotes programs and services which are congruent to the International Platforms of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The five Platforms included in the National Program and implemented by the members of Omicron Gamma Omega are:


Platform I - The Non-Traditional Entrepreneur

Omicron Gamma Omega will strive to create economic expertise, success in business and power networking opportunities for the non-traditional entrepreneur. Strategies and activities planned for Platform I initiatives will be implemented through the following committees and chairpersons.


Non-Traditional Women-owned Business Entrepreneurs - Soror Ruby Hill
Economic Workshop/Forum - Soror Yolanda Pinckney
Networking with Local Businesses - Soror Yolanda Pinckney
Platform II - The Economic Keys to Success

Through education, synergy and partnerships, Omicron Gamma Omega will develop and disseminate the economic keys to success. The goals of this committee are to increase economic literacy of youth and adults; provide youth with an eceonmic head start; provide opportunities for the community to gain knowledge necessary to become entrepreneurs; and to impart to the youth benefits of a college education. The following committees and chairpersons will implement through the goals of the sorority.

Platform III -The Economic Growth of the Black Family

The goal of Platform III is to provide activities that enable, support and provide access that enable and promote the growth of the black family. The committee will devise strategies for assisting young males in overcoming the formidable challenges to their educational development and well-being and provide activities to enable and promote the growth of the black family, which will strengthen the commmunity through building a strong family foundation.

Platform V - Health Resource Management and Economics

Members are asked to commit to developing ongoing and lasting healthy lifestyles. The Platform V committee will address teh many health issues and crises that face the Black community, develop social support networks and raise public awareness. Strategies and activities scheduled to accomplish the goals of being empowered emotionally and physically as follows are:
